Day of Atonement is comprised of former Mortification drummer Phil Gibson and current Mortification guitarist Lincoln Bowen along with bassist/vocalist Davey. The sound is tight, heavy, aggressive death metal that sometimes touches on black metal. This is much heavier and faster than anything that Mortification has been putting out since Phil left the band in 1994. Loads of blast beats and speedy riffs abound. Musically comparable to Six Feet Under or Crimson Thorn. Sometimes there is even hints of old Mortification present, especially in "Sinful Blindness" which sounds very similar to Mortification's "Clan of Light." Short album at just over 30 mintues at a hefty price as this is only available as a European import.
