Straight edge hardcore with a sense of melody, which is unusual for any hardcore band. Musically, this is a decent disc. As is usual with the tons of Christian hardcore bands that all came out in the mid-to-late 1990's, the image is that of a bunch of short haired kids in street cloths. I guess it's the anti-rock star image, but to tell you the truth, I like the bigger than life image. When I pay to see a show, I want to see a show, not a bunch of short-haired geeks in Nikes and t-shirts. I've heard people say that it
is only the music that should matter, but the fact is, it is not. Without the image, the showmanship, and the attitude to pull it all off, it's just boring. (Beside the fact that the anit-rock star image, is still an image, albeit a poor one.) Forthwright write cool lyrics that are somewhat disturbing, but definitely thought provoking. This was the last record, that I know of, to be released on Morphine Records before they went under. This disc is out of print. The band has broken up, as far as I know, as well.
