Apparently in the late 90's and into the year 2000 there is a trend in Germany that is bringing metal back to the Bay Area Thrash sound. Bands like My Deepest Inner and Blackend, with labels like Gutter and Massacre, are resurrecting the sounds of bands like Testament and early Metallica but are mixing in some modern influences as well. My Deepest Inner's "Generation X" is a refreshing listen, albeit a short one.
