Possessions three song ep that features some of the most technical and over-the-top thrash I have heard in years. Simply outrageous with vocalist Nyke E screaming like a banshee one second then switching over to the most deathly growl the next. Possession push the boundries of thrash, at times walking a fine line of death metal, but always retaining a classic metal overtone. Great album!

Possession walk a fine line between death metal and thrash with some obvious influences (Mercyful Fate). "Eternally Haunt" is heavy, technical and better than a lot of metal on the bigger labels. The vocal range of "Nyk" range from higher than high King Diamond to low gutteral growls like Chris Barnes (Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse). Imagine a mixture of Death, Sacrifice, Morbid Angel and Dark Angel with the classic metal influences of Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate. Put all that in a blender, push whip and you've got "Eternally Haunt." The subject matter of the album has to do with the occult but seems to be somewhat from a Christian perspective, although there is some criticism of modern church practices as well. The opening, which sounds as demonic as anything I have ever heard, is actually taken from some church service.

I guess that Possession had some legal problems with Metal Merchant so they began selling the cd on their own. To promote sales they offered this 3-song 3" cd to anyone who purchased "Eternally Haunt" directly from them. Very cool package that I have pictured above at actual size. The last song is listed as "bonus track" but is actually a killer cover of King Diamond's "Shrine", which is a B-side to "The Family Ghost" single. I am not sure of the name of the song. If anyone knows, let me know. Sorry for the bad scan , but the cover is shiny black with a silver foil emboss, so it doesn't scan very well.
Possession also recorded a song for the "A Call to Irons-An Iron Maiden Tribute."
