Solid heavy metal with some slightly more modern influences. Killer production. I can't see why a band this good has not made more waves in the world of music. Much of the music on this disc was co-written by Roy Z, who has also worked his magic on such albums as Halford, Dickinson's "Accident of Birth" and Rob Rock's "Rage of Creation." Despite some misconceptions about this band, they are NOT a Christian band. As a matter of fact, I can't even understand how or why anyone would come to that conclusion. There is not even one song on this disc that could be misconstrued as being Christian, save for 'Pray'. "Pray" is actually a song that pays homage to those who have died on our behalf, fighting for the rights of Americans. Similarly "Who Sane?" is a song about Saddam and "Operation Desert Storm." "Fight or Fall" is a song about political corruption and scandal with a message of resistance to the powers that be. In anycase, "Ancient World" is a solid heavy metal platter that will see frequent visits to my cd player, albeit not as much as:

Picked up this disc after finding out their vocalist is the incredible Rob Rock. Based on his history alone, I figured it would be a good disc. Good does not even describe it; rather what we have here is jaw-dropping awesome. Killer metal with, of course, the awesome vocal talents of Rob. What else needs to be said? Also interesting side note, Bruce Dickinson and Roy Z (Fight/Halford/Dickinson) each have songwriting credits on one song each.
