Not sure what happened but David Wayne is once again out of Metal
Church. Apparently the Wayne-Metal Church album became a big fight between
David and his former band. David also sings for Reverend.

OK, I know there was a big stink over the whole name and cover of this disc. Yes the "Wayne" logo is suspiciously similar to the Metal Church logo and the cover even has the old moss-covered Gibson Explorer-guitar cross stuck in the ground. SO WHAT!!!! Why does anyone care why David Wayne called his album "Metal Church" or made the cover look like a Metal Church cover. Of course everyone knows what he is trying to do. Again I say, so what! After a less than amicable split from his former band for the second time, vocalist David Wayne has bounced back with yet another blistering metal retro-feast that seriously outdoes the somewhat lukewarm "Masterpeace" Metal Church reunion disc. Metal riffs abound with tons-o-solos, double bass, and those trademark, unique wails of David Wayne. Perhaps the title is fitting since the music really does sound like his former band. "The Hammer Will Fall" is a solid, heavy mid-tempo number reminiscent of Judas Priest, or, ahhh Metal Church. In reality, the whole album is solid heavy metal with the exception of the cover of Mountain's "Mississippi Queen" which is good, but seems out of place. After listening to this one a few times, I can see why Wayne's ex-band mates are so pissed off. He really did steal their fire. Should also mention that ex-Metal Church guitarist Craig Wells appears on this album as well.
David is also singing for a reformed Reverend as well and has released an EP titled "Gathering of Demons" that came out only a few months before this Wayne release.
