I saw these guys open for Nevermore and Iced Earth at a local club and was blown away by their tight musicianship. I had to rush out and get their cd the very next day. Of course, no one had it in stock, so I had to special order it, which took almost two weeks. I should have just bought it off the web, it would have cost less and taken much less time. In any case, I was already a big Helstar and New Eden fan before this disc came out, so it was only natural that the mixture of the two bands would, in my opinion, be phenomenal. Destiny's End is New Eden with James Rivera (ex-Helstar) on vocals. Tight power metal with heavenly vocals is the only way to describe this awesome release. If I had to find something wrong with this disc, it would only be that there are not as many hooks as I would have expected. Otherwise, this is a stellar release. Paid $16.99 from Hasting's. YIKES! Get it direct from Metal Blade and save a few bucks!

10. "Vanished" (7:30)
Second awesome speed metal cd in a row from James and crew. This one seems, perhaps, a bit faster and a bit darker as well. Another noticable difference is in the vocals. James seems to be focusing more on his mid range vocals a bit more and using the higher stuff more sparingly. Perhaps this is an age thing, or perhaps he is just trying to do something a bit different. Either way, it works.
