Circle of Dust formed from the ashes of Immortal, a Metallica influenced thrash band. As a matter of fact, album closer, "Senseless Abandon" is an industrialized version of an old Immortal song that appeared on their "Dead and Buried" demo tape. The song also appears on the "Demolition" compilation by R.E.X. Immortal gutiarist/vocalist Scott Albert (also known as Klay Scott) basically recorded this album by himself then hired a band to perform it live with him.The album features thick industrial Their Pride" by Celtic Frost. Guitarist Daren Diolosa, who is listed as a member but did not play on the album, went on to form Klank.

This is my favorite Circle of Dust album, by far. It's stinking HEAVY--much heavier than the debut release. Originally this disc came out under the band name Brainchild and the name of the cd was Mindwarp. I actually had that version but wanedt this Circle of Dust version instead, as that is what it really is. I'm not sure why Scott Albert, or whatever he is calling himself these days, decided to release it under a different name. Regardless, "Brainchild-the album" is one heavy piece of industrial thrash metal! This would be the last album released under the Circle of Dust moniker for a few years because of problems with defunct label R.E.X. Both these first two discs are out of print and sell for an average of $25 on ebay. Oh, and one other thing, one of the songs on this album was used on MTV for a long time as the opening for one of their shows. Can't remember which show it was, however.

Uh, oh, what happened here? This is not the same band, this is barely even industial. Sounds more like goth with some industrial influences to me. Where are the heavy guitars and the bizarre samples? Well, I'm not saying this is a bad disc, but I am disappointed. I don't think I have ever sat down and listened to this from start to finish.
